The big-hearted team at Bays Brewery in Paignton are raising a toast to four top Devon charities throughout 2023 with the launch of its brand new ‘Charity Brews’.
Available at various times throughout the year in bottles, cask and beer boxes, each brew will support a worthy local cause in a bid to give something back to the community.
The first of its charity brews ‘Hops Nose’ is available for sale now both in beer boxes and cask, with 5% of all proceeds going towards the Ocean Conservation Trust.
Inspired by the natural beauty of the Torbay headland Hope’s Nose, the pale ale will be available until April, when the second charity brew from the family-run brewery will be served.
Developed in partnership with Paignton Zoo to make its centenary year, Wild 100 is a crisp, copper-coloured pale ale roaring with citrus character, with 10p of every pint going to wildlife conservation.
Director of Bays Brewery, Peter Salmon, said: “Being a local, family-run brewery, we’re always looking at how we can give something back to our community and these charity brews are a great way to say ‘cheers’ to some causes close to our heart.
“We’re especially thrilled to be working with Paignton Zoo once again for their centenary year, with beer lovers able to find all of our charity brews available for sale on our online shop and lots of Devon bars and pubs.”
Wild 100 is the latest in a long line of beers developed by Bays Brewery in collaboration with Paignton Zoo, which combined have raised more than £20,000 for endangered species to date.
The third charity brew, Berry Head, will launch this Summer, inspired by Torbay’s most designated world heritage site, Berry Head, with proceeds going to the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust.
Completing the charity line-up will be Bays’ festive favourite, Jingle Ale, with 5% of proceeds from the Christmas-time tipple supporting the Torbay Holiday Helpers Network.
Bays Brewery is approaching its 16th year of creating multiple-award-winning beers, ales and ciders, all crafted to perfection the Devon way in the stunning coastal resort of Torbay.
